The
Christian Healthcare Foundation was established in order
to financially secure care for our aging population.
This has been done through a partnership with Rest Haven
Christian Services, which has been in ministry for 90
years.
“In support of our Christian mission to serve
the elderly, we need research, education, assistance
for the poor and strength for flexibility in providing
care in new locations and in new capacities. A Foundation
allows us to organize resources from our community.
It allows us to focus time, money and energy to specific
issues and needs without compromising our current mission
areas,” says John T. Zeilstra, vice president
of the Foundation. Mr. Zeilstra had advocated the need
for this Foundation for many years before it became
a reality in 2003.
Our focus is quite clear. The Christian Healthcare
Foundation protects our most vulnerable citizens by
fundraising for a variety of long-term care programs
and services. Our initial goals are to grow our finances
in excess of $20 million. More long-range goals call
for the Christian Healthcare Foundation to exceed $100
million in financial values.
